I have been a practitioner since 1999. I am currently deeply influenced by my training in the Hendrickson Method. I have also trained in deep tissue massage, trigger-point work and pregnancy massage, as well as learned corrective techniques to address specific issues such as lower back pain and spasm, neck issues and shoulder impingement injuries. I have the honor of saying that Stephen Coleman and Tom Hendrickson have been powerful mentors in my journey (I am a certified Hendrickson Method practitioner). These two masters having the same mentor (Lauren Barry) means that I find myself in a healing lineage and tradition that has brought great relief to many.
I also bring to my work over thirty years experience as a dancer and dance instructor. As a result, I have a deep understanding of how the body functions best, what impedes that functionality and how to bring you and your body back to its greatest capacities and greatest ease.
Going deeper into my personal history, I have been an athlete all of my life and currently teach dance workout classes, hike, swim, practice yoga and cycle. I bring to you a profound understanding of the stresses or injuries that could arise while engaged in various athletic activities - and, more importantly, I can help you move through those injuries or stresses and get you back to your most vital self.
In addition to the physical and bodywork knowledge that I bring to my practice, I have an ongoing meditation practice that enables me to be fully present and attentive to you and your needs during your session.
